About the Kearney Amphitheater

Breathtaking is an appropriate adjective to describe the recently-built Kearney Amphitheater in Kearney's Jesse James Park.  Completed in the fall of 2007, the amphitheater is set to open this spring, and continue through the summer into early fall.

The project has cost upwards of $917,000, funded through $350,000 in city lease-purchase financing, a $150,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.  Utilizing tax credits secured thought the Missouri Development Finance Board, over $400,000 in donations and in-kind contributions were also raised.  Please visit our "Friends" page to see all of the generous businesses and individuals that have made this project possible.  Kearney has once again proved to be a progressive city with an eye towards the future.
